King James Bible Church met for the 1st time August 10, 1975, in a storefront on Irving Park Road in Chicago, IL. Its roots lay in a Bible study of Public High School kids who had been led to the Lord in the early 70s. By October of 1976, the church had called Dave Rowley to be their Pastor. The Lord blessed; souls were saved and people grew spiritually through the preaching and teaching of Pastor Rowley.

They soon outgrew the storefront and needed a church building; in Des Plaines there was an empty church building that needed a congregation. The Lord used door-to-door visitation to bring the two together and in 1978, The King James Bible Church moved into their very own church on Oakton Street in Des Plaines, IL. The church flourished in the next ten years as many people were reached in their community.

In 1988, the Lord called Pastor Rowley to pastor in Washington State, and in September of 1989 Pastor Chris Huff was called. The church continued to grow; Sunday School classes, Jr. Church classes, nurseries and a bus ministry were added to help reach souls for the Lord. Storefronts around the church had to be rented to accommodate these ministries.

In 1996, the Lord opened the door to the church's current location in Mt. Prospect, IL. We had our first service in "a real church" as one of our bus children described it. We praise the Lord for what He has done and continues to do. We are in need of more space in spite of the purchase of the property next door, but we are confident the Lord will provide. We invite you to join us on Sundays or Wednesdays.
